Chicken NOT Pie
Ingredients:
- Refrigerated or homemade pie crust
- vanilla pudding and ingredients needed to make it (instant works best but use the cook kind if you want)
- Jelly Belly “peas and carrots”
- pie pan (mini's work best, but you can potentially try to use a regular size one)
- aluminum foil
Instructions:
- Cut your pie crust using your pans as a template. You need rounds big enough to go over the pan, overlapping the edges only slightly. You will only need 1 crust per pan, because we're only making a top crust.
- Ball up aluminum foil to fit the pans, doming it up slightly, Cover tightly with another piece of foil. This will make your crust have a dome shape like real chicken pot pie.
- Cover with the crust rounds.
- Bake at 450°F for ten minutes, until the crusts are nicely golden. Set aside to cool completely.
- Mix up your pudding according to the directions on the box. Once set and cooled completely, mix in the “peas and carrots”.
- CAREFULLY remove the crusts from the pans. Remove the aluminum foil and throw away.
- Spoon pudding mixture into the pans.
- Place crusts back on the pans and VOILA! Chicken NOT Pie!
